Award Celebration and Bars 209-210 St. Petersburg

Well it was the day we spent the last 4 years working toward. It was our beach bar award ceremony day and we were lucky enough to spend it with several of our close friends.

Bar 209 Bongos Beach Bar and Grill
We journeyed to St. Petersburg early to catch the Top Beach Bar ceremony for Bongos. We had never been there and were pleasantly surprised by the ease of parking, great views and amazing staff. Over the course of the few hours we were there, I had an IPA and a Corona and Ryan tried the Zombie and Planters Punch. The food and drinks were really well done!

We could have spent all day here with this amazing view and great music. Bongos received the Top 3 Bar for 2015 and we can see why. This is easily one of our favorite places and we will certainly be back.

We would like to give a special shout out to our waiter Thomas. He was amazing, quick to respond, always bringing us cold pitchers of water and incredibly friendly.

Beach Bar Award
Jimmy B's, the number 1 Beach Bar in 2015 graciously allowed us to be presented our award at their party. Our friend John of floridabeachbar.com presented us with our award. We had been to Jimmy B's many times before and it is always a fun time!

 We had a visit from Hulk Hogan who stopped by to congratulate us. Okay, maybe not exactly but we did get to see him!

We celebrated the award with free sunset shots, a Jimmy B's standard and one of the reasons this bar has been number 1 four of the last five years of the contest.

Bar 210: Postcard Inn
This is another bar that we have been to a few times but never for our "official list". This is one of our favorites on St. Pete Beach. We used their lobby as an inspiration when decorating our own house. The bar atmosphere was laid back compared to the party happening next door at Jimmy B's but it was exactly what we needed.

We sat on the back deck, sipped our drinks and discussed the day. It was a great way to end a fantastic day. As always St. Pete showed us an amazing time!
