Waitress- Yes!
Ryan- I'll take two!
Waitress- Great, they're bringing you fresh ones.
Sarah and Ali - Fresh?!? As in, not used??
Sarah's friend from college Ali and her husband Erik were in town visiting from Minnesota so we took them to one of our favorite places in Florida. Siesta Key! We were able to enjoy the white sandy beaches, relax, and hit a few beach bars while we were there! It was an enjoyable weekend and although we have been to Siesta Key numerous times, thanks to this challenge we found some new bars we never knew existed!
Beach Bar 18- Daiquiri Deck
This has always been a favorite of ours so it made sense it was our first stop. The food here is good and the drink are fantastic.
In order of the drinks below: Ali got the terminal velocity, Sarah had the green parrot, Erik had the monkey berry, and Ryan got a mix of margarita and purple haze.
Their speciality is, of course, daiquiris, so we all tried different flavors! And then we tried even more flavors!
Beach Bar 19 - Cottage Bar
We stopped in here for a drink before dinner. It is a very cute and charming place and make sure you go out back to experience the lighted courtyard area. This was a new bar for us in the area and we would recommend it!
Pomegranate mojitos
Beach Bar 20 - Blu Smoke Island Grill
This was one of those places to which we had never been before in Siesta Key and we are so happy it was on the list because it is now one of our favorites!
We had dinner here and, of course, drinks.
Ali with a red sangria and Erik with a Fire Rock Pale Ale
Beach Bar 21 - The Hub
Our second to last stop of the evening was The Hub. They have mexican food and drinks. The bar, like many of these places, has an indoor section and an outdoor section. We stopped there for lunch the next day and both times they had live music playing on the patio.
Sex on Siesta, XX Lager, Hub Margarita
It was so nice to have both of them down with us!
Just like old times!
Beach Bar 22- Gilligans
Our last stop of the evening was Gillians. There are essentially two different areas to this bar. One side is an awesome club scene and the other is this more relaxed lighted patio. We spent the majority of the time on the patio but you could still here all the music. It was a fun time!
Ali and I specifically selected drinks that came in a Gillian's souvenier cup because Ryan has been collecting glasses from each of our stops. Imagine our surprise when the drinks came in regular Solo cups. They had to go in the back room to get some but we finally got our souvenier cups!
The Shipwreck, Landshark Beer, Groove Daddy
We had to pull out the flashlight on her phone in order to see the menu of drinks at the bar. We're officially old(er).
A great ending to a fantastic night in Siesta Key! Great bar stops and even better company!
Beach Bar 23- Flying Bridge on St. Pete Beach
Okay, so we try to only do one trip per blog post, but this bar was kind of a quick trip so we're adding it on to this post.
We went down to St. Pete Beach the weekend after Siesta Key and had dinner and drinks at Flying Bridge which is part of Tradewinds Resort.
It was right on the beach and had a great view of the sunset. It was worth the stop and made us really excited for an upcoming trip we have planned to come back to St. Pete.
